Feb 6, 2007 - Low Quality Comics...
In the University of Calgary's student paper, The Gauntlet (http://gauntlet.ucalgary.ca/), they regularly have a "comics" page. I deliberately use quotes around the term "comics" because they are really poor excuses for comics. Usually the "humor" derives around the 'stupid' humor, toilet jokes, and the noteable example of having a comic about killing your fat mother which happened to be "printed one day after the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, when in 1989, 14 women were brutally slaughtered. Interestingly, in the same edition of the Gauntlet, there was an article about the ceremony to commemorate this national event." (Letter to the Editor; Jan 11, 2007). Obviously the quality of comics is questionable.
What I was illistrating in this comic was the poor quality and lack of sophistication that the current collection of comics possesed, and to poke fun at it.
