Random Musings: I'm So Lonely I Read My Junk Mail
By: Kristoph Minchau
Junk Mail - is it really junk?
Sometimes my inbox lays barren, and all I get is "Junk Mail". But, I
don't think that all junk mail is junk, or even the dreaded "spam".
Here are some musings on the subject:
I'm So Lonely I Read My Junk Mail
- If I get more mail from "spammers" than from "real people"... does
that mean that the "spammers" love me more than "real people"?
- You know, someone out there had to go to the effort of searching, and
finding my e-mail address, put it into a huge database, and
*personally* start the automatic e-mailer... I mean, how more "personal" can you get than that?... someone had to go out and
specially find you, among the millions, and send you a message with
good news regarding one of your most *personal* problems, and offer
the "cure" in the form of a diamond shaped blue pill, for cheap cheap
cheap! How did they ever know I had a problem in the first place, I
don't know... but boy! am I am glad that they did!
- "spammers" offer me more help on my problems (money, "personal"
problems, etc.) than "real people", and usually their "advice" is
better and more to the point.
- Who's advice would you put more "trust" into? One which you're *One* "friend" gives you while choking back a laugh about you're "problem"... or one sent by a "professional" who isn't afraid to talk
about --solutions-- to you, and is *so* sure of the solution, and is
so *confident* about himself, the solution, and not afraid of
-talking- about the "problem", that he is willing to send out an
e-mail to *MILLIONS* of people?... would you're friend be confident
enough with his "advice" that he is willing to talk to MILLIONS of
people about it? (probably not).... so who's advice do you take?....
